WORKING TOGETHER FOR BULGARIAN LANGUAGE EDUCATION
The Association of Bulgarian Schools in America (ABSA) is an organization established in 2018, when it became clear that Bulgarian community-based heritage language schools across the United States needed to connect with each other and become more visible in the official language landscape. To this respect, ABSA collaborates with the National Coalition of Community-Based Heritage Language Schools, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), the Seal of Biliteracy, the Global Seal of Biliteracy, many universities, and others.
An example of the ABSA’s role in fostering Bulgarian language education in the US can be seen in its introduction of the Bulgarian Language Global Seal of Biliteracy Certification at its partner schools.
